Studio Technicians/Facilitators

Studio Technicians/Facilitators
Orb Community Arts
Description of the role:

Our recording studio, rehearsal space and DJ facilities are at the heart of the volunteer Orb does. If you would like to help run this facility and gain experience running recording sessions and facilitating music groups or already have experience using recording desks and outboard gear get in touch. We're also keen to hear from people with skills using music recording packages like Cubase and Reason, both in the studio and to mentor vulnerable individuals in their use.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

There are no formal qualifications required for this role, but we are looking for a volunteer with technical experience volunteering in a studio. Ideally, we are looking for someone with a sound engineering background and a good understanding of audio electronics, music production and recording equipment.

Practical information:

Volunteers would be based at our main office and studio at the Garage, Elephant and Castle Yard, Knaresborough.

Whether it be art, music, singing, cooking, growing food, writing, photography, film making or learning IT basics, Orb helps people overcome isolation, build skills and confidence, improve their well-being and play a valued role in the local community.
