The NAVCA Quality Award is an externally audited evaluation of the services offered to voluntary and community groups by a local infrastructure organisation. It demonstrates that HARCVS is the leading provider of support and development services in the Harrogate District. The award is assessed against the NAVCA Performance Standards and once awarded, is valid for three years.
In 2006 Harrogate & Ripon Centres for Voluntary Service became one of the first charities in the country to be awarded the new Quality Award by the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA). The Award was renewed in 2011 and in 2016, demonstrating our continued commitment to supporting the voluntary and community sector to make a real difference for local people.
NAVCA explain: 'The NAVCA Quality Award goes to local voluntary sector support and development organisations which meet NAVCA’s performance standards. The four standards are outcomes focused and address the difference local support and development organisations make through the delivery of their services:
The fact that Harrogate & Ripon Centres for Voluntary Service has gained the Quality Award means that voluntary organisations and community groups in your area have available to them good quality support and development services. It also means that you have in your area a local support and development organisation able to work in partnership with you and to represent the local voluntary and community sector effectively.'
